There is no specific recommended dose.

There is no specific recommended daily intake for omega-3 fatty acids.

International associations such as the WHO and the European Food Safety Authority recommend a minimum of 250-500 mg of EPA/DHA on a daily basis for the adult.

For pregnant and breastfeeding women, it is recommended to add 200 mg of DHA to the above dosages.

Can it be helpful to take an omega-3 supplement?

Undoubtedly, the best way to supply our omega 3 requirements is to eat cold-water oily fish at least 2 times a week. If this is not the case, then I recommend supplementing omega 3 with a good product, paying attention to the supplements in it and inquiring about the seriousness of the company that produces it. Being guided by price is not a good way to buy omega 3.

There are numerous studies attesting to the benefits of omega 3. Remember that an excellent omega 3 product contains fish oil and krill oil.

For vegetarians and vegans there are DHA supplements derived from algae.
